This species of moss looks like little pine trees. They grow in clusters, and are soft and springy to the touch.

Haircap moss looks like clusters of little stars.

This moss loves swampy, boggy lowland areas. It absorbs moisture quite well and is loved by amphibians for this.

Fern Moss

As the name suggests, this moss looks a bit like miniature ferns. I have noticed that this type of moss loves growing around the bases of oak trees.
